Convene a council.
Get a verdict — dissent and all.

Parley sits a council of six AI investor personas around your stock portfolio. They read the filings, the tape, and the headlines, then argue it out and hand you a confidence-weighted opinion — with the doubt shown, never hidden. Keyboard-first, your keys, your machine.

The council

A council, not an oracle

Six investor archetypes — Steward, Visionary, Skeptic, Strategist, Scout, Appraiser — argue bull vs. bear; a synthesizer renders BUY / SELL / HOLD with a confidence band and an explicit dissent count.

Deep-mode debate

Deep mode adds a bull-vs-bear rebuttal round: personas read each other's cases and respond before the synthesizer rules. Shallow mode stays fast and cheap.

News as a seventh voice

Recent headlines run through a sentiment agent whose signal sits alongside the six personas — the council reads the news cycle, not just the chart.

Portfolio-wide council

Rank the whole book, not one ticker: the portfolio council orders your positions, flags concentration risk (HHI), and narrates the shape of your risk in plain English.

A council with a track record

Press [t]: every past verdict is scored against the realized 30-day move — hit rate by stance and a per-archetype leaderboard. The council is accountable.

Portfolio & money

Portfolio that does the math

Record buys and sells; realized and unrealized P&L recompute from the ledger as you trade, with per-ticker sparklines and allocation.

¤

Dividend income

Press [i]: provider-fed dividend events reconstruct shares held at each ex-date — trailing-twelve-month income, totals, and yield-on-cost per holding.

Benchmark vs the S&P 500

Press [b]: a money-weighted shadow SPY portfolio mirrors every one of your cash flows — so “did I beat the index” is answered honestly.

Multi-currency, done right

ECB FX rates convert every position into your base currency — totals, P&L, dividends, even London's pence-quoted GBp tickers, normalized.

Watchlist

Press [w]: debate stocks you don't own yet. The council tracks and analyzes them; your first buy promotes a watch into a holding.

CSV broker import

parley import trades.csv — flexible header aliases, all-or-nothing validation, new tickers created automatically. Your history in one command.

Automation, privacy & craft

Price alerts

Press [l]: per-ticker above/below thresholds on holdings and watchlist, evaluated on the live poll — one-shot triggers you re-arm with a keystroke.

Scheduled re-analysis

Opt-in daily or weekly sweep re-runs the council on stale tickers in the background — and toasts you the moment a stance flips.

Local-first & private

Holdings live in a local SQLite file. API keys sit in an encrypted, chmod-600 store — never plaintext, never logged.

Provider-agnostic

Data, news, and LLMs sit behind clean adapters. Swap OpenAI, Anthropic, or local Ollama without touching the UI.

Keyboard-first TUI

Every action is a keystroke — j/k to move, a to analyze, : for the command palette. It never leaves the terminal.

Educational, by design

Parley explains how investment philosophies reason. It never executes trades or tailors advice — the posture is structural.

Educational analysis — not financial advice. Uncertainty and dissent are shown, never hidden.
